We are looking for a fantastic Assistant Librarian to run our Pok Fu Lam campus library. This role would suit someone who has a passion for children’s literature and a desire to work in a school environment, supporting teaching staff as well as pupils.

You may have been working in a Library for some time and would like a new challenge, or, you are perhaps working towards a qualification in Librarianship - looking for the mentorship of an experienced school Librarian.
Duties and Responsibilities
To assist the librarian in the day to day running of the school libraries primarily based at the Preparatory School, Pok Fu Lam but with the flexibility to move between all campuses
Day to day management of the Pok Fu Lam Campus Preparatory Library
Delivery Information Literacy and Library Skills to students
Ability to work independently
Excellent spoken and written English
Ability to work well as part of a Library team across the whole school
Ability and willingness to collaborate with, and answer questions from, staff, students and parents and the wider Kellett community
Genuine interest in and knowledge of children's literature
Experience in school library or school environment essential
Good computer skills with ability to use Word, Excel
Knowledge of Oliver Library management system desirable
Knowledge of cataloguing desirable
Ability to file and order resources in alphabetical and numerical order
Ability to keep accurate records
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, administrators and the wider school community and develop positive cooperative relationships with others
Ability to read aloud with expression
Ability to interact with children aged 4 up to 11
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience of working in an academic library or environment
Diploma or certificate in library studies - desirable
Terms and Conditions
Working times: 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday
Base : Pok Fu Lam Campus
Holidays: 20 working days per year, not including public holidays. Holidays shall be taken during
the school holiday periods, but not during the first week of the summer holiday or
the week prior to the start of the autumn term.
Medical Insurance: Offered to staff not already covered by any other medical scheme.
